Dr Myriam Francois-Cerrah is a Muslim writer, journalist and academic. She was nominated as part of the “40 under 40” European Young Leaders class of 2017.
She presented the Channel 4 documentary “The Truth about Muslim marriage”, nominated for best investigative documentary in 2018, as well as two BBC One documentaries, “The Muslim Pound” (2016) and “A Deadly Warning: Srebrenica Revisited” (2015).
British Muslim integration
She has spoken for an Islamic Relief campaign to combat violence against women and girls; delivers talks and lectures internationally, including at Oxford, McGill and Harvard universities; and is a regular presenter at high-profile events, including the glamorous London Modest Fashion Festival.
Dr Francois-Cerrah is a Research Associate at the Centre of Islamic Studies (CIS) at SOAS University, where her research focuses on British Muslim integration issues. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Global Policy (CGP) think tank.
She completed her PhD (DPhil) at Oxford University, focusing on Islamic movements in Morocco in 2017. She holds an MA from Georgetown University (USA) and a BA from Cambridge University (UK).
